If you know if the acid and base used to make the salt you can judge it’s pH. The pH will be related to that of the stronger reactant.
Explaining this requires you to write the dissociation of the salt and water and examining the resulting products.
Metal ions with high charge densities will rip the electrons out of the OH bond in water, liberating H+, thus lowering the pH (Be2+,Fe3+, Al3+)
